The idea was to create a &#8220;design machine&#8221;. It includes a &#8220;design per square inch&#8221; meter, a &#8220;typometer&#8221; and other tools of the trade.<\/p>\n<p>The center emblem was based on the aluminum emblem on a vintage bakelite stereo viewer. The viewer and the Rolleiflex camera were my grandfather&#8217;s. I scoured junkyards and antique shops for the gauges, gears, pistons, saw blades and other items.
