For the poster design I used classic references from the classic story. The poster was printed in five colors with metallic gold ink in the title, dragon&#8217;s wing and flames, and the gold coins. The illustrations were used for other marketing purposes, as well as cast clothing including T-shirts and hoodies. Box office records were broken in Victoria when over 10,000 people took in <em>The Hobbit<\/em> at the McPherson Theatre over a period of only 10 days.
