Project Description
Interferry website design and development
As Interferry’s mandate and influence has expanded, a new website was needed to reflect the changes. The homepage is designed to give an overview of Interferry’s history and goals for the future. The header image plays off the international aspect and uses a mosaic of ferries from member’s fleets as well images from recent conferences. Two large parallax image sections display vessels in the fleets of conference hosts and conference venues. Both parallax sections use a custom plug-in that selects images randomly from two galleries of the past six conferences – vessels and venues respectively – which helps keep the homepage fresh.
The website works together with Interferry’s membership software so members can join and pay dues online, access the member only features including a searchable member directory and update their profile including company contacts. The Interferry News works with MailChimp to automatically email new posts.
The site includes comprehensive Communications and Regulatory Affairs sections, as well as a Conference section which highlights conference photos and speaker presentations in video format as well as PDF. The presentations are archived on Vimeo and played directly through the site.
Other features include advertising on high-traffic pages, as well as a Twitter feed and automatically updated new members list in the footer.
